About project
“GirlPower” project provides fine-tuned entrepreneurial education to girls who are 15-18 years old, enrolled in secondary education and reside in Latvia and Estonia. We offer a mix of interactive and dynamic events targeted at the development of business knowledge and competences, an opportunity to practice real-life entrepreneurship in international student companies, meetings with amazing people, who will inspire trainees and help them grow and move forward fast, a modern IT tool and game-based exercises that will make the learning process so much fun. Beside that, the project gives a possibility to travel across Latvia and Estonia, make friends with peers from both countries and easily improve English language.
“GirlPower” project is implemented by Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies and Centre of Educational Innovation of University of Tartu. It is co-financed by the European Union in the framework of the Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020. Project duration is 26 months: from November 2020 until December 2022. Project budget is 379 464.13 EUR; co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is 307 365.93 EUR.
It is expected that 80 girls from Latvia and Estonia will be involved in the project on a continuous basis. 20 student companies will be established.
We also aim to promote importance of early entrepreneurial education, increase its attractiveness among students and their parents, as well as facilitate its expansion via various stakeholders, such as secondary schools and other educational institutions, business centres, youth organizations, municipalities and others. In November 2022, we will present a 30-hour Study Module to all interested parties and conduct a series of training events on how to use it and integrate into regular activities
